Mayo Clinic names Transform the Practice teams 2019
Mayo Clinic announced teams to advance its Transform the Practice strategic goal. This initiative aims to foster and support multidisciplinary teams of clinicians and researchers to form teams that will collaboratively address unmet clinical needs by accelerating translation of new products, services and therapeutic capabilities into the Mayo Clinic practice, improving patient care and distinguishing Mayo Clinic as a destination practice. Teams will receive financial and logistical support to advance these goals and quickly implement these new solutions for patients.
Teams were chosen based on alignment with enterprise clinical priorities; ability to leverage existing infrastructure; capacity to be implemented across all sites; representation of multidisciplinary expertise; and novelty of diagnostic technology or therapeutic advances to address unmet clinical needs.
These transformation teams will launch in 2019:
“Minimally Invasive Pericardiotomy as a New Treatment for Heart Failure”
“Next-Generation Preoperative Targeting for Thalamic Deep Brain Stimulation in the Treatment of Tremor”
“Screening Contrast-Enhanced Digital Mammography (CEDM) in Intermediate and High-Risk Patient Populations”
“The Intra-Arterial Delivery of Mesenchymal Stem Cells for the Treatment of Luminal Crohn’s Disease: Safety, Efficacy and Implications for Disease Discovery”
“Ultrasound Guided-Thread Carpal Tunnel Release”
