Sharonne Hayes, M.D., receives 2022 Dr. Carolyn McCue Award for Woman Cardiologist of the Year from VCU Health Pauley Heart Center

Sharonne Hayes, M.D. (I ’86, CV ’90), Division of Preventive Cardiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, will receive the 2022 Dr. Carolyn McCue Award for Woman Cardiologist of the Year from the VCU Health Pauley Heart Center. Dr. Hayes was selected for mentorship and career development of women, advancement of women in science, success in bringing gender issues in cardiology to the forefront, development of a multidisciplinary Women’s Cardiovascular Clinic, orchestration and support of WomenHeart, work in spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD), and work in diversity, equity, bias, and inclusion.

Dr. Hayes is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
