Alumni Volunteer Opportunities at Mayo Clinic

There are tons of alumni volunteer opportunities at Mayo Clinic. Alumni who want volunteer opportunities to stay connected with Mayo Clinic are sure to find something that’s just right for their interests, whether on a short- or long-term basis.

Consider some of the following opportunities to stay connected, or contact the Alumni Center to suggest your own ideas.

  • Mentor.

Students, residents, and fellows would love to gain your insight. Consider sharing your time and valuable experiences by speaking at a program for students at a Mayo facility or connecting one on one where you live and work. You might choose to reach out to recent graduates moving to your area or host a visiting student in your home, a level of support which helps them manage their travel budget during the interview process. Any of these informal mentoring activities can play an important role in assuring our students have success at every stage of their transition from student to professional. To become a mentor visit our mentorship page.

  • Mayo Clinic Preferred Response.

Join a growing network of Mayo-trained physicians around the world providing support to members of Mayo Clinic Preferred Response. The program provides medical support to individuals wherever they may be. Read more about the program, use this form to participate, or contact Mayo Clinic Preferred Response to learn more, volunteer or become a member.

  • Leadership.

Consider serving on the MCAA board of directors, offer to assist with a regional alumni program in your area, or participate in a biennial meeting or international CME program.

  • Humanitarian Service.

Use your skills to serve the under-served. Learn more by contacting Mayo Clinic Abroad.

  • Hospitality at Mayo Clinic.

Volunteers at Mayo Clinic locations provide Mayo patients and visitors with hospitality, services, and information in inpatient or outpatient settings. If you are interested in volunteering at Mayo Clinic, opportunities are available in Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota.

To volunteer as a mentor or host, to offer to serve on the Alumni Board, or to obtain more information on any of these alumni volunteer opportunities contact the Mayo Clinic Alumni Center.
