Allison Rosenthal, M.D., named Woman of the Year by Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Arizona chapter

Allison Rosenthal, D.O.

Allison Rosenthal, D.O. (HEMO ’15), Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, was named Woman of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Arizona chapter. She and her team raised $140,000, a new record for the organization. The funds will be used to battle blood cancer.

Dr. Rosenthal entered medical school intending to become an orthopedic surgeon. At age 24, she was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. She had two and a half years of chemotherapy and has been cancer-free for 11 years. Because of her experience, she chose to become an oncologist specializing in treating lymphoma. Dr. Rosenthal also is an assistant professor of medicine.

The Man and Woman of the Year program is an annual campaign that raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Arizona. The society funds blood cancer research, supports patients and families and provides financial aid programs. Fifteen Man and Woman of the Year nominees and their teams held events and auctions to raise money during a 10-week campaign.
