Kenneth Iserson, M.D., to appear on ABC-TV’s “20/20” as network promotes new show, “The Good Doctor”
Kenneth Iserson, M.D. (S ’76), professor emeritus for emergency medicine at the University of Arizona, Tucson, will be the focus of an ABC-TV “20/20” segment to air on Sept. 13, 2017.
“20/20” is promoting the network’s “The Good Doctor,” a new episodic fictional program about a young physician who is on the autism spectrum and a savant who improvises to save lives. “20/20” wanted to interview real-life physicians who emulate various aspects of the protagonist “The Good Doctor.” In Dr. Iserson’s case, the focus is on improvising practices.
“20/20” interviewed Dr. Iserson and filmed him improvising practices on mannequins in the University of Arizona Simulation Lab.
Dr. Iserson is the author of “Improvised Medicine: Providing Care in Extreme Environments” (second edition, McGraw Hill Publishing, 2016).
