Xiaoxi Yao, Ph.D., receives NIH R01 funding for project

Xiaoxi Yao, Ph.D. (HSR ’15), Department of Health Sciences Research at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received NIH R01 funding for the project “Optimizing Stroke Prevention for Older Adults with Atrial Fibrillation: Toward Rigorous Evaluation and Judicious Application of a New Device.” The objective of the project, which is in conjunction with Peter Noseworthy, M.D. (CV ’13), Division of Heart Rhythm Services, is to address the evidence gaps and develop new prediction tools to optimize the use of Watchman for AF stroke prevention.

Dr. Yao is an assistant professor of health services research in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
