Y.S. Prakash, M.D., Ph.D., is associate dean for Research, Midwest, Mayo Clinic

Y.S. Prakash, M.D., Ph.D. (PHYS ’94, ANES ’96, I1 ’03, ANES ’06), chair, Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, is now associate dean for Research, Midwest. Dr. Prakash will work to simplify and facilitate processes for investigators so they may focus on discovery, translation and application of innovative scientific breakthroughs in addressing unmet patient needs. He also will partner with department and research chairs, center leaders, the Mayo Clinic Research Committee and Research Administration to accomplish Mayo Clinic’s research mission.

Dr. Prakash is a professor of anesthesiology and physiology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
