Jeffrey Huang, M.D., receives Mayo Clinic Education Science Career Development Award

Jeffrey Huang, M.D. (I ’17, ANES ’20, CCMA ’21), Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received the Education Science Career Development Award for 2022-2023. The Education Science Career Development Award is funded by an endowment from the Mayo Clinic Board of Governors and is designed to provide education and training in innovative education research methods that will advance the careers of Mayo Clinic educators, increase the value of Mayo Clinic education programs and contribute to the science of education. It consists of a nine-month program covering coursework in statistics, study design, education methodology, hypothesis generation, protocol development, grant writing, and publishing, and incorporates mentoring focused around planning a specific education research project. Dr. Huang’s ESCDA project is a longitudinal educational escape room simulation curriculum for the anesthesiology residency program. The escape room will be joining the resident simulation curriculum in the near future. Dr. Huang is an assistant professor of anesthesiology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
