Saad Kenderian, M.B., Ch.B. (HEMO ’13), received an award, Mayo Clinic Rochester

Saad Kenderian, M.B., Ch.B. (HEMO ’13), Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received a 2023 research award from the Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics for the project Center for Functional Genomics of Immunotherapy. The Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics is a collaborative venture among Mayo Clinic, the University of Minnesota and the state of Minnesota that seeks to position Minnesota as a world leader in biotechnology and medical genomics applications that will result in important new medical discoveries that improve healthcare for patients while supporting the development of new businesses and jobs in the state. Dr. Kenderian’s partner at the University of Minnesota is David Largaespada, Ph.D. This project will contribute to the field by providing and testing new T-cell products that could be widely deployed and that are based on donor, genetically modified T cells that could be stored for later use. Dr. Kenderian is an assistant professor of medicine, immunology and oncology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
