Carrie Langstraat, M.D. (GYNO ’11), Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received an Eric & Wendy Schmidt Fund for AI Research & Innovation award from the Mayo Clinic Department of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Informatics for the project “A Deep-Learning Algorithm for Early Detection of Ovarian Cancer Among Patients With Adnexal Lesions.” The award supports innovative research in the field of AI and machine learning to accelerate next-generation tools that improve patient care at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Langstraat is an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
