Matej Markota, Ph.D. (P ’17), Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received an Eric & Wendy Schmidt Fund for AI Research & Innovation award from the Mayo Clinic Department of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Informatics for the project: “Combining Artificial Intelligence and Optical Coherence Tomography as a Biomarker for Schizophrenia.” The award supports innovative research in the field of AI and machine learning to accelerate next-generation tools that improve patient care at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Markota is an assistant professor of psychiatry in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
