Elie Berbari, M.D.

Elie Berbari, M.D. (INFD ’98), has been named chair of the Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Dr. Berbari is a professor of medicine for Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and chair of Public Health, Infectious Diseases and Occupational Medicine within the Department of Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He was program director for Infectious Diseases from 2009 to 2017 and chair of the Division of Infectious Diseases from 2017 to 2022. He succeeds Vijay Shah, M.D. (GI ’98), who has been chair of the department since 2020.
