James Hebl, M.D.

James Hebl, M.D. (I1 ’96, ANES ’99), has been appointed medical director for leadership assessment and development at Mayo Clinic. Together with Chet Rihal, M.D. (I ’89, CV ’93), chair, People and Culture Committee, and Karen Mellum, director, Human Resources, Dr. Hebl will partner closely with Education, Strategy and site medical directors of leadership development to advance Mayo Clinic’s leadership development strategy and new Mayo leadership competencies (LLIFE) in support of the Bold. Forward. Strategy. Dr. Hebl has been an active supporter and sponsor of enterprise leadership programs, has long been involved in leadership development, and has experience as an executive coach and doing formal leadership assessments. Dr. Hebl is known for driving the clinical, operational and financial transformation of the practice while fostering intentional leadership growth and development.
