Adam Schwartz, M.D., is named a 2017 Kern Scholar
Adam Schwartz, M.D. (OR ’09), Department of Orthopedics at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, has been named a 2017 Kern Scholar.
The Kern Scholars Program, sponsored by Mayo Clinic’s Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery, trains clinicians to use tools from applied sciences to rigorously assess and improve patient-centered outcomes and health care delivery systems.
His research focuses on using observational and experimental methods to study cost and quality as they apply to the total joint arthroplasty episode of care. He aims to improve process efficiencies, patient access to care and treatment outcomes by providing credible cost and quality data, and patient-centric models of value-based care delivery.
Dr. Schwartz also is an assistant professor of orthopedics.
