Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Teacher of the Year Awards selected
Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences Teacher of the Year Award recipients are Yuichi Machida, Ph.D. (ONCL ’08), and Kay Medina, Ph.D. (IMM ’05). The graduate students nominate teachers annually.
Dr. Machida has joint appointments in the Division of Oncology Research and Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. He also is an assistant professor of pharmacology and teaches courses in the Molecular Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (MPET) track, including cellular pharmacology of agents that target cancer and research seminars in pharmacology.
Dr. Medina is an associate professor in the Department of Immunology and course director and instructor for the Generation and Function of B Lymphocytes Tutorial and past course director for Basic Immunology. She teaches courses in the development and survival of lymphocytes and humoral immunity, and immune cell signaling.
