Aaron Mangold, M.D., honored by American Society of Dermatologic Surgery with Arizona State Patient Safety Hero Award

Aaron Mangold, M.D.

Aaron Mangold, M.D. (TY  ’12, DERM ’15), Department of Dermatology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, was honored by the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery with the Arizona State Patient Safety Hero Award for his work on sunscreen legislation. He has been active in public education and lobbying efforts to create sun-protective laws and regulations, especially as related to children and youth. The Hero Award acknowledges Dr. Mangold’s role in the enactment of Arizona’s HB2134, which lifted a ban on children carrying and applying sunscreen in schools, camps and other government-operated facilities.

Dr. Mangold also is an assistant professor of dermatology.
