Alexandre Gaspar Maia, Ph.D. (LABM & PATH ’17), Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received a Career Enhancement Program award from the Mayo Clinic Breast Cancer Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) for the project “Single Cell Resolution of the TBX2 Oncogenic Program in Breast Cancer.” The Breast Cancer SPORE Career Enhancement Program is focused on identifying and mentoring faculty with the greatest potential of developing independent programs in translational breast cancer research, including laboratory investigators or clinicians with evidence of research productivity and clear potential and commitment to translational research in breast cancer. Dr. Gaspar Maia is an assistant professor of laboratory medicine and pathology and pharmacology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
