Atul Jain, M.D.

Atul Jain, M.D. (GIM ’14), has been appointed chair of the Division of General Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Dr. Jain has served as the interim chair of General Internal Medicine since January 2025, following his role as vice chair beginning in 2020. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing the division’s mission during this period of transition. In addition to his work within General Internal Medicine, Dr. Jain holds several key institutional leadership roles, including associate dean for the Mayo Clinic School of Continuous Professional Development and education delegate for the Mayo Clinic and Arizona State University Alliance for Healthcare. Dr. Jain brings a forward-thinking vision to the role of chair, marked by a strategic focus on advancing the mission of General Internal Medicine. His priorities include enhancing team performance, expanding innovative clinical programs, developing a research infrastructure tailored to the division’s needs, and integrating artificial intelligence into clinical operations and staff development.
