Barham Abu Dayyeh, M.D. (GIAE ’12), Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received a Mayo Clinic Office of Translation to Practice Innovation Accelerator Award for the project “Vacuum-Assisted Electroporation to Treat Anastomotic Leaks.” Innovation Accelerator Awards support projects that aim to develop new technologies with commercialization potential, such as medical devices, diagnostics, therapeutics, small-molecule drug discovery, healthcare IT and other human health innovations, including practice initiatives. Dr. Abu Dayyeh is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
