Bernard Gersh, M.B., Ch.B., receives 2017 Distinguished Scientist Award from American Heart Association
Bernard Gersh, M.B., Ch.B. (CV ’79), Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received the 2017 Distinguished Scientist Award from the American Heart Association in recognition for significant and sustained scientific contributions to building healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Gersh has published 929 papers and 144 book chapters. He was named in the Thomson Reuters list of individuals with the greatest number of cited scientific papers for 2002 to 2012. He is a Mayo Clinic Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.
Dr. Gersh is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
