Bernard Morrey, M.D. (OR ’76), named a 2023 Pillar of the Orthopaedic Profession

Bernard Morrey, M.D. (OR ’76), Mayo Clinic Emeriti Staff, was named a 2023 Pillar of the Orthopaedic Profession by the American Orthopaedic Association. The honor recognizes clinicians, educators and researchers who have provided essential support to others in the profession. Dr. Morrey practiced at Mayo Clinic from 1978 to 2009, specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. He is the third Mayo orthopedic surgeon to be honored [the others were the late Mark Coventry, M.D. (S ’39, OR ’42), and the late Patrick Kelly, M.D. (OR ‘56)]. Dr. Morrey is a Mayo Clinic Distinguished Alumni Award recipient a former member of the Mayo Board of Governors and former chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.
