Catherine “Cat” Chong, Ph.D. (N ’14, CTSA ’14), received an award, Mayo Clinic Arizona

Catherine “Cat” Chong, Ph.D. (N ’14, CTSA ’14), Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, received the National Institutes of Health 2024 Helping End Addiction Long-Term Initiative Trailblazer Award for her research investigating the persistence of headaches following concussion. The award recognizes researchers in the early stages of their careers who are applying an innovative approach or creativity in their research or in the middle stages of their careers and are expanding research into addressing the pain and opioid crisis in new directions. Dr. Chong has been invited to present her work during a plenary session at the 5th Annual National Institutes of Health Helping End Addiction Long-Term Initiative Scientific Meeting in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Chong is an associate professor of neurology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
