Christeebella Akpala (MED ’25), a medical student at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine – Rochester Campus, was named a fellow of The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans. The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans program honors the contributions of immigrants to the U.S. Each year, the foundation invests in the graduate education of 30 new Americans — immigrants and the children of immigrants — who are poised to make significant contributions to U.S. society, culture or their academic fields.
