Christoper Russi, D.O., named associate medical director, Mayo Clinic Military Medicine

Christopher Russi, D.O. (CTSC ’13), Department of Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was named the associate medical director for Mayo Clinic Military Medicine in Rochester. Dr. Russi succeeds Peter Amadio, M.D. (OR ’83), who served as the first associate medical director for Rochester.

Dr. Russi will lead efforts to implement innovative educational programs, tactics and practices that align with the Mayo Clinic Military Medicine’s strategic plan supporting Research, Education and Practice for military-related needs. Dr. Russi will represent Mayo Clinic at various Department of Defense, government and federal agency meetings to establish and maintain strong ongoing relationships with all military branches and raise awareness of Mayo Clinic Military Medicine.

Dr. Russi is a major in the U.S. Army Reserves Medical Corp with the 945th Forward Resuscitation Surgical Team based in Fort Snelling, Minn. He serves the U.S. Army as an emergency medicine physician providing care to wounded service members in far-forward and austere environments.

Dr. Russi is an associate professor of emergency medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
