Cornelia Weyand, M.D., Ph.D. (RHEU ’91), Distinguished Scientist, Mayo Clinic Rochester

Cornelia Weyand, M.D., Ph.D. (RHEU ’91), Division of Rheumatology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was selected as an American Heart Association 2023 Distinguished Scientist. The Distinguished Scientist designation was created in 2003 to honor AHA/ASA members who have made extraordinary contributions to cardiovascular, stroke and brain health research. This title recognizes Dr. Weyand’s research work that has advanced the understanding, management and treatment of cardiovascular disease, stroke and brain health. Dr. Weyand is a professor of immunology and medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
