Courtney Harris, M.D., chosen as national representative to American College of Physicians Council of Resident and Fellow Members

Courtney Harris, M.D. (I ’19), was chosen as a national representative to the American College of Physicians Council of Resident and Fellow Members.

Her research, “Retrospective Analysis on Patients with Ventricular Assist Devices,” was accepted for presentation as an oral abstract at IDWeek 2021, and she received an IDWeek Trainee Award.

This year, Dr. Harris had two letters to the editor accepted for publication as well as a first-author paper on gender equity, describing women physicians’ perceptions of gender discrimination, disparities and mitigation.

Dr. Harris also is involved in Women in Academia Valuing Equity (WAVE), a structured mentoring group focused on developing a strong network of women in medicine, science and related fields who support each other professionally and advance strategic initiatives that promote quality, equity and inclusion.

Dr. Harris completed the first year of infectious diseases fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute and is starting a subspecialized year in transplant infectious diseases.
