David Holmes, M.D., is director of Device Translation Studies, Mayo Clinic in Rochester

David Holmes, M.D. (I ’74, CV ’76), Division of Interventional Cardiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was named the director of Device Translation Studies.

In this role he will work with the vice chair for Innovation, Samuel Asirvatham, M.D. (CVEP ’00), and provide support for novel device projects. This role will entail mentoring staff interested in novel device development, promotion and facilitation of Mayo device studies (and in particular early feasibility and first-in-man studies) and partnership with FDA in advancing device regulatory science through meetings, publications, symposia and other strategies.

Dr. Holmes is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
