Dietrich Matern, M.D., Ph.D., receives Mayo Clinic Karis Award

Dietrich Matern, M.D., Ph.D. (LABM ’99), chair, Division of Laboratory Genetics and Genomics, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received a Mayo Clinic Karis Award. This award recognizes staff who live out the Mayo Clinic values in an extraordinary way, serving patients, visitors and colleagues.

Dr. Matern has joint appointments in the departments of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine and Clinical Genomics. He is a professor of laboratory medicine and pathology, medical genetics and pediatrics in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
