Dorin Colibaseanu, M.D., is named a 2017 Kern Scholar

Dorin Colibaseanu, M.D. (S ’12, CRS ’13), Colon & Rectal Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Florida, has been named a 2017 Kern Scholar.

The Kern Scholars Program, sponsored by Mayo Clinic’s Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery, trains clinicians to use tools from applied sciences to rigorously assess and improve patient-centered outcomes and health care delivery systems.

 Dr. Colibaseanu’s research focuses on studying surgical outcomes of colorectal cancer patients in Florida to improve access to care and improve colorectal cancer outcomes at the state level. He also is using quantitative methods to study surgical outcomes of patients who have diabetes and are undergoing surgery.

Dr. Colibaseanu also is an assistant professor of surgery.
