Eduardo Chini, M.D., Ph.D., receives 5-year NIH R01 grant

Eduardo Chini, M.D., Ph.D. (NEPH ’95, ANES ’01), Division of Central Anesthesia, Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was awarded a five-year NIH R01 grant by the National Institute on Aging for “Role of CD38 in NAD Metabolism: From the Basic Biology of Aging to Translation.” The major goal of the grant is to improve metabolic function and health span in the elderly by developing novel therapies targeting the enzyme CD38.

Dr. Chini is an assistant professor of medicine and professor of anesthesiology and pharmacology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
