Elitza Theel, Ph.D., featured in Minneapolis Star Tribune special issue on heroes of pandemic
Elitza Theel, Ph.D. (CM ’12), Division of Clinical Microbiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and director, Mayo Clinic Infectious Diseases Serology Laboratory, was highlighted in the Minneapolis Star Tribune special issue featuring heroes of the pandemic.
Along with many in health care and other industries, Dr. Theel worked around the clock to create one of the country’s first antibody tests in response to COVID-19. The test uses a blood sample to determine if COVID-19 antibodies are present in the body.
Dr. Theel is an associate professor of laboratory medicine and pathology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
