Elizabeth Jacobsen, Ph.D. (BIOC ’09), received a grant for program, Mayo Clinic Arizona

Elizabeth Jacobsen, Ph.D. (BIOC ’09), Division of Allergy and Asthma at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, received a $100,000 grant from the Flinn Foundation’s Seed Grants to Promote Translational Research Program. Dr. Jacobsen is the principal investigator of a project to develop a diagnostic test for accurately measuring lung inflammation. With results available in minutes, this test will allow for more personalized therapy for people with asthma. The funding will support additional technological and clinical validation studies using this test. Dr. Jacobsen is an assistant professor of immunology and biochemistry and molecular biology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
