George Pujalte, M.D.

George Pujalte, M.D. (FM ’14), has been appointed chair of the Diversity Advancement Network (DAN) of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). The DAN focuses on strengthening engagement, professional growth, and long-term involvement of current and former participants of the Leadership and Training Program (LDTP). Relaunched as part of ACSM’s 2024 strategic plan, DAN operates through four work groups — Professional Support, Communications, Outreach and Networking, and Research — that offer career development, peer connections, writing and research collaboration, and support for regional initiatives. Activities include résumé and interview preparation, newsletter publication, alumni database creation, mentoring, and collaborative projects. ACSM is the world’s largest organization in sports medicine and exercise science, with nearly 50,000 members and certified professionals committed to improving health and human performance through research, education, and practice.
