Gregory Worrell, M.D., Ph.D.

Gregory Worrell, M.D., Ph.D. (I1 ’97, N ’00, NPHY ’01), has been named the William L. McKnight-3M Professor of Neuroscience. He is a consultant in the Division of Epilepsy, within the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, with a joint appointment in the Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Worrell’s clinical and research efforts are focused on epilepsy, a disorder characterized by seizures and affecting over 50 million people worldwide. Research from his lab is highly translational and integrates basic scientific discovery, engineering and clinical trials with the goal of improving the lives of patients with epilepsy. He succeeds Andrew Engel, M.D. (I ’61, N ’62).
