Hongfang Liu, Ph.D.

Hongfang Liu, Ph.D. (HSR ’11), was inducted into the American College of Medical Informatics (ACMI) on Nov. 13, 2016, during the annual symposium of the American Medical Informatics Association.

The ACMI is a college of elected fellows from the U.S. and abroad who have made significant and sustained contributions to the field of medical informatics.

Dr. Liu is a professor of biomedical informatics and consultant in the Department of Health Sciences Research at Mayo Clinic. Her primary research interest is in biomedical natural language processing and data normalization.

She has led the American Medical Informatics Association Natural Language Processing Working Group since 2014 and has been a member of the Informatics Domain Task Force of the National CTSA Consortium since 2015.
