Iftikhar Kullo, M.D., receives U01 grant from National Human Genome Research Institute
Iftikhar Kullo, M.D. (I ’94, CV ’99, CLRSH ’06), Division of Preventive Cardiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received a U01 grant from the National Human Genome Research Institute to develop polygenic risk scores for populations of diverse ancestry. He and his co-investigator, Daniel Schaid, Ph.D. (MSEP ’86), Department of Quantitative Health Sciences at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, will receive $3.18 million over a five-year period to conduct this research, which will bolster efforts to offer precision medicine to individuals of all backgrounds and help reduce health care disparities in genomic medicine.
Dr. Kullo is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
