Jaeyun Sung, Ph.D., wins Best Oral Presentation Award at International Society of Microbiota – 8th World Congress on Targeting Microbiota

Jaeyun Sung, Ph.D. (S ’17), Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, won the Best Oral Presentation Award at the International Society of Microbiota – 8th World Congress on Targeting Microbiota in Paris, France. The title of his presentation was “Gut Microbiome Predicts Clinically Important Improvement in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.”

Dr. Sung also received the Translational Product Development Fund Program Award for his project Development of a Health Screening Tool Using the Gut Microbiome Health Index. The award, established through a partnership between Mayo Clinic Center for Clinical and Translational Science and the University of Minnesota Clinical and Translational Science Institute, provides support to Mayo Clinic and University of Minnesota investigators to advance their research findings into commercial products.

Dr. Sung is an assistant professor of surgery in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
