James Cerhan, M.D., Ph.D., elected to Scientific Council of the International Agency for Research on Cancer

James Cerhan, M.D., Ph.D. (MSEP ’98), chair, Department of Health Sciences Research at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was elected to the Scientific Council of the International Agency for Research on Cancer to serve a four-year term beginning in 2019. The agency is an extension of the World Health Organization and coordinates and conducts research on the causes of human cancer and mechanisms of carcinogenesis, and develops scientific strategies for cancer control.

Dr. Cerhan is a professor of epidemiology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
