James Kirkland, M.D., Ph.D., to receive Irving S. Wright Award of Distinction, American Federation for Aging Research

James Kirkland, M.D., Ph.D. (GIM ’07), Division of General Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, will receive the Irving S. Wright Award of Distinction from the American Federation for Aging Research, a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and advance healthy aging through biomedical research.

Dr. Kirkland is director of Mayo Clinic’s Robert and Arlene Kogod Center on Aging and Noaber Foundation Professor of Aging Research. The Wright Award is named in honor of the American Federation for Aging Research founder and recognizes exceptional contributions to basic or clinical research in the field of aging.

Dr. Kirkland is a professor of medicine and physiology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
