Januario Castro, M.D. (HEMO ’18), Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, received additional funding and continued support in the Mayo Clinic Office of Translation to Practice Innovation Accelerator Award program for the project “Targeting ROR1 Using a Novel CAR-T Cell-Based Therapy in Hematologic Malignancies and Solid Tumors.” Innovation Accelerator Awards support projects that aim to develop new technologies with commercialization potential, such as medical devices, diagnostics, therapeutics, small-molecule drug discovery, healthcare IT and other human health innovations, including practice initiatives. Dr. Castro is a professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
