Joy Wolfram, Ph.D., named to Lead Council of the Northeast Florida Regional STEM² Hub

Joy Wolfram, Ph.D. (PATH ’89, LABM ’91), Division of Transplant Medicine, Mayo Clinic in Florida, was named to the Lead Council of the Northeast Florida Regional STEM² Hub, a nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of science, technology, engineering, math and medical (STEM) programs in Northeast Florida.

She also was appointed co-chair of the Physical Sciences-Oncology Network Education and Outreach Working Group of the National Cancer Institute. In these roles she supports students’ education and career development by arranging research programs, courses and seminars.

Dr. Wolfram says her mission is to inspire and support underrepresented gender and racial minorities in science. She has organized several scientific activities for middle school and high school students.

Dr. Wolfram is an assistant professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
