Julie Rosenthal, M.D. (CV ’16), Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, received a 2023 Collaborative Research Seed Grant Program in the Mayo Clinic and Arizona State University Alliance for Health Care for the project “Cardiac Amyloidosis, the Crucial Need for Blood-based Biomarkers for Early Disease Detection.” With the goal of advancing research, improving patient care and reshaping medical education, the alliance’s seed grant program provides fertile ground for research on a small scale, with the potential to attract funding for larger studies that can significantly improve patient care. Dr. Rosenthal is an assistant professor of medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
