Julie Wei, M.D., named surgeon-in-chief and medical director of OR at Nemours Children’s

Julie Wei, M.D. (ENT ’01), was named surgeon-in-chief and medical director of the OR at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida. She continues as division head of otolaryngology and audiology — a position she has held since 2013. Prior to joining Nemours, Dr. Wei was at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where she was an associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. She completed fellowship training in pediatric otolaryngology at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (formerly Children’s Memorial Hospital) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and otolaryngology residency training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She received her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla. She is one of only four women division heads of major pediatric otolaryngology programs at children’s hospitals in the U.S.
