Linda Baughn, Ph.D. (LABM & PATH ’18), awarded grants for her research, Mayo Clinic Rochester

Linda Baughn, Ph.D. (LABM & PATH ’18), Division of Hematopathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and co-director of Mayo Clinic’s Genomics Laboratory, was awarded two grants from the National Institutes of Health for her research into the differences in multiple myeloma tumor biology in individuals of African ancestry. Her research team is focused on elucidating the genetic mechanisms of racial disparities in the incidence and outcome of patients with multiple myeloma, particularly among individuals of African ancestry. Dr. Baughn is an associate professor of laboratory medicine and pathology in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
