Michael Ackerman, M.D., Ph.D., receives 2021 Distinguished Mayo Clinic Investigator Award

Michael Ackerman, M.D., Ph.D. (MDPH ’95, PHAR ’95, PD ’98, PDC ’00), Division of Heart Rhythm Services at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received a 2021 Distinguished Mayo Clinic Investigator Award. Dr. Ackerman is a genetic cardiologist and physician-scientist whose research has led to better clinical care for patients at risk of sudden cardiac death from genetic heart conditions such as long QT syndrome and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He is the Windland Smith Rice Cardiovascular Genomics Research Professor.
