Michael Krowka, M.D., named director of new enterprise-wide Mayo Clinic Transplant Research Center

Michael Krowka, M.D. (THD ’86), Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, has been named director of the new enterprise-wide Mayo Clinic Transplant Research Center. He will lead the development of the center’s strategic research plan and budget, and will oversee and facilitate the multidisciplinary integration of solid organ, blood/marrow and reconstructive transplantation research across all campuses. Dr. Krowka has a joint appointment in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and is a professor of medicine. He also is chair of the Research Committee for the William J. von Liebig Transplant Center. His research interests focus on lung abnormalities that are related to liver disease and their implications for liver transplantation.
