Naima Covassin, Ph.D., receives Young Investigator prize, is named finalist in another investigator competition

Naima Covassin, Ph.D.

Naima Covassin, Ph.D. (CV ’14), a senior research fellow in the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, received the Young Investigator prize in clinical research at the 15th International Sleep and Breathing Symposium. The symposium is held every two years, and the award is highly competitive.

Dr. Covassin also was recently named as one of three finalists for the American Heart Association Lifestyle and Metabolic Health Young Investigator competition. She will present her research at the final competition at the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions in California in November 2017.

Additionally, she led an R01 application at Mayo Clinic that was funded by the National Institutes of Health at $4 million.

Dr. Covassin also is an assistant professor of medicine.
