Nicholas Chia, Ph.D., is co-director of Microbiome Program in Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine

Nicholas Chia, Ph.D. (BIOMB ’12), Department of Surgery, Department of Health Sciences Research, and Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering and Department of Physiology and Biomedical Engineering at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was named a co-director of the Microbiome Program in the Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine.

The Microbiome Program explores the genetic code of the body’s microorganisms using the latest techniques to profile an individual’s microbiome to detect, prevent and diagnose infections and other diseases.

Dr. Chia is an assistant professor of biophysics and surgery in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
