Omair Shariq, M.B.B.S., receives award, Mayo Clinic Rochester

Omair Shariq, M.B.B.S. (S ’24), a surgical resident at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was awarded First Place in the 2022 American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) and American Cancer Society annual paper competition for his paper “The Bromodomain and Extra-Terminal Domain (BET) Protein Inhibitor: I-BET151 Shows Preclinical Efficacy in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors via Modulation of mTOR Signaling.” First place winners receive a $1,000 honorarium and an invitation to present their research at the CoC Plenary session at the ACS Clinical Congress in San Diego in October 2022.
