Omair Shariq, M.B.B.S. (S ’24), Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, was awarded the Best Basic Science poster, “Epigenetic Targeting of Bromodomain and Extra-Terminal Domain Proteins as a Novel Therapy for Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors” at the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons annual meeting. This is the first year the award has been named the Geoffrey Thompson Award for Best Basic Science Poster, after the Mayo Clinic’s Geoffrey Thompson, M.D. (S ’88).
